U.S. Cellular has announced that it is releasing the update for owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on its network.

U.S. Cellular, the fifth-largest carrier in the U.S, has officially released the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for The Galaxy Note 3, Samsung's former flagship phablet. The company has just updated its software update page to reflect the release, stating, "The Android Operating System is fast, intuitive, and has a familiar feel with the integration of popular Google services. To get more out of your Android experience you can now upgrade your device to the latest version of the Android operating system."

If you own a U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and would like to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update now, the company is offering two options. The first does not require the use of a USB cable, but it is necessary for your device to be connected via Wi-Fi and that the device also be registered to a Google account. To use this option just go to the settings menu and select "About Device." Then select "Software Update," "OK" and continue to follow the onscreen prompts to get the update.

The second option is to download the Android 5.0 Lollipop update using your computer, along with a USB cable. First you have to download Samsung Kies, the download center where you receive the updates. Then, connect your Galaxy Note 3 to the computer via a USB cable and open Kies. You should see the Android 5.0 Lollipop update available in the basic information section. Click "Firmware upgrade," which should begin the process, which will first involve a backup of all your current data.
