As April turns to May, gamers can finally look ahead and smile: the gaming drought that dominates the spring months is almost over. Finally, new releases will finally start trickling in to put those new consoles to the test...until the summer dry months kick in, that is.
Then again, there are still a few weeks before any of the big titles hit store shelves...which means that, for the time being, gamers don't have much to look forward to when it comes to new releases.
Older releases, on the other hand, are seeing some absolutely massive discounts - and with May the 4th right around the corner, Star Wars fans have more than enough games to choose from.
That's not to say that there's nothing new on sale - as always, there are some great discounts on new current-gen consoles, starting with one of the best Xbox One bundles to ever hit the Internet:

The real highlight of the week are the numerous Star Wars sales: with May the 4th right around the corner, publishers are celebrating by discounting most of their respective Star Wars libraries. We've already gone over the Steam and GoG.com sales, but that only covers half of the specials: Xbox Live is currently hosting a 'May the 4th Be With You' sale on its Star Wars games (most of which are on the Xbox 360), and Sony is hosting a very similar set of deals over on the PlayStation Store.
Granted, it's not like Star Wars is the only franchise on sale this week: Microsoft is hosting a Capcom Publisher Sale over on Xbox Live, while Steam's Midweek Madness is dedicated to Ubisoft's arcade lineup alongside the usual Weeklong Deals. Finally, the PlayStation Store's weekly sale is dedicated to Japan's Golden Week: if you're looking for a game that was published in Japan, and you want to get it cheap - it's probably on sale.
If you're looking to play something from a galaxy far, far away - you're in luck. Of course, the Star Wars deals aren't the only ones, and there are some huge deals on current-gen consoles (and the games to go with them). Just make sure to grab anything you want quickly - as always, these deals won't last forever!
