Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are continuing to report problems with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, with users complaining of overheating, battery drain, app issues such as lags and force closes and more.

We've been reporting on some of the problems that users are experiencing with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their devices, and it appears no handset has had more user complaints and issues than Samsung's Galaxy Note series.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was slated to be one of the first devices to receive the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Customers who purchased the device upon its launch last September were given a December release date for the update.

The first U.S. Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the device was not released until March and came to the Sprint network. Verizon and AT&T followed suit in April, and just recently, both T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular released their updates for the Galaxy Note 4.

Along with the release of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update came numerous complaints by customers who were experiencing major issues with the update, including overheating, battery drain, forced rebooting and closing of apps, and in some cases, even bricking. While some issues always arise when a new OS update is released, the amount of problems on the Note 4 as well as its counterpart the Note Edge and predecessor Note 3, appear disproportionate. In fact, both AT&T and Verizon recently issued small Android 5.0 Lollipop updates, presumably to address some of these problems, although still not acknowledging them publicly.

Customers, however, continue to flood message boards and Tech Times with not only their complaints, but with numerous tales of manufacturer and carrier reps admitting that the issues are actually widespread.

T-Mobile customers hoped that the delay in their receipt of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was so that the carrier could work out some of the bugs, but it appears they are having similar issues to those of other carriers.

"Battery life is terrible. Games are laggy. I think I was happy with my old OS," lamented one T-Mobile customer, while another agreed, "Battery life is terrible. From 100 percent charge down to 61 percent while in my pocket, no apps running in 2 hours. Thanks for nothing."

The complaints extend across carriers and Note devices. One Sprint Galaxy Note Edge user recently commented that he was "very excited to update my Note Edge, waited and waited only to wish I can go back to my old version. Experiencing extreme battery drain, lagging issues, forced close apps, and just not as fluid as before. Phone was great before the update."

"I just got the update on my Note 3 through Verizon and my battery drains faster and it's very buggy," noted one customer, while a Verizon Note 4 user chimed in, "I loved the phone until the Lollipop update last week. Battery does not last half as long, randomly tells me I have no connection although it says I am connected to my Wi-Fi, apps freezing. I want the previous version back."

Not all customers are unhappy, with many actually reporting improvements in performance and battery life. Many explain that a factory reset of their device eliminated prior issues, but others claim that approach was not effective.

We'll continue to report on these ongoing issues with the Samsung Galaxy Note Android 5.0 Lollipop updates. Meanwhile, have you received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for your Galaxy Note device? Are you happy with the update or are you experiencing some of the issues described above? Please let us know in the comments below.
