Sarah Jessica Parker may be lauded as a fashion diva, but being famous means being up for social media scrutiny — and even the most celebrated fashionistas have moments when they slip up.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit is considered the Oscars of fashion, and you can always expect to see some memorable looks from the star-studded guest list. Parker waltzed into this year's event, held in New York on May 4, wearing a headdress that was soon to become a meme on Twitter.
If you're wondering what the brouhaha is all about, one look at the enormous accessory and you will have your answer.
The look apparently took its cue from this year's Met Gala theme, "China: Through the Looking Glass," a celebration of art and style influenced by the East. The 50-year-old Sex and the City star teamed the custom headdress by Philip Treacy with a gown SJP designed herself in collaboration with H&M. The elaborate headdress had what looked like scarlet flames billowing in all directions and was embellished with pom-poms.
Soon enough, the Twitterati was at it with comparisons to Jafar from Disney's Aladdin and WWE wrestler Stardust. Utilizing the hashtag #MetGala, Twitter users came up with various memes that roasted poor SJP. Here are some of the reactions:

SJP was also compared to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers villain Rita Repulsa.

To some, SJP also looked suspiciously like an emoji...
