Did you know that the dance that Belle shares with the Beast in Beauty and the Beast follows the exact same footsteps as the dance between Aurora and her prince in Sleeping Beauty? It's true.

If you're as surprised as we are by this revelation, just wait. There's more. Snow White's dance with the Dwarves is the same as Maid Marian's dance with the Merry Men in Robin Hood. From that same movie, Little John's moves match those of Baloo from The Jungle Book. The list goes on.

As it turns out, Walt Disney and his animators made a habit of reusing animations over and over. It's not all that surprising, really. Hand-drawn animation is a time-consuming, painstaking task, after all. This sort of thing is also not relegated just to film. Artists from all mediums will tell you that they regularly use whatever shortcuts they can to help speed along the process.

Besides, it's not really plagiarism if you're copying yourself.

Still, it's kind of shocking to see just how identical some of these animations are. YouTube channel Movie Munchies took some of Disney's animated classics that have recently been re-released in high definition and matched them up flawlessly in this charming little video, so you can see for yourself.

Remarkable, no?

If you're interested, there are plenty of other videos on YouTube showing further evidence of Disney's penchant for recycling. Just look up "disney reused" for more.
