Hide the cake, 'cause Portal is back. But probably not in the way you'd expect.

Zen Studios, video game developer and virtual pinball expert, has collaborated with Valve Software to bring Portal to the world of pinball. Portal Pinball is a brand new table coming to Zen's various pinball platforms on Monday, May 25, 2015.

Portal fans will feel right at home, as Chell, GLaDOS, Wheatley, ATLAS and P-Body all show up for the fun. All of the award-winning game mechanics from Portal and Portal 2 are included as well. You'll find Companion Cubes, turrets, jump platforms, lasers, light bridges and crumbling Aperture Science surroundings. (There's no word yet on the inclusion of colored gels.)

The quality and detail, as is the standard from Zen, look spectacular. Check out the trailer.

Portal Pinball is the second recent video game to take advantage of licensing of the franchise through Valve. Earlier this month, toys-to-life game LEGO Dimensions announced that a pack will be available to buy separately that will add levels to the game based on Portal 2. It's unknown if physical LEGO playsets will be produced based on Portal, but it seems likely.

Portal 2, the last game in the series to-date, was published in 2011. Valve has announced no intentions of continuing the franchise with further games, but encourages the creation and sharing of fan-made levels.
