The Unicode Consortium approves new emojis for use across all operating systems, and it looks like 38 new emojis could be coming to a smartphone near you in 2016.

Earlier this month, the organization finalized and submitted to members for approval a list of 38 new emojis. Once they are approved, the new emojis will be added to the current set as part of the Unicode 9.0 update arriving in June 2016, Yahoo Tech reports.

This proposal comes just a month after releasing Unicode 8.0, which featured a set of racially diverse emoji, a taco and a unicorn, among other new additions, according to Yahoo Tech.

But before we dive into any new emoji, you should probably make sure you're using the existing set correctly. As Wired points out, Unicode has also recently made some changes to emojis based in part on the fact that people don't seem to know what they mean.

The list of possible new emojis includes such Internet-friendly characters as avocado, bacon and a symbol for a selfie, which I have been saying is in dire need of an emoji since the candidates for Unicode 8.0 were released last November. Unicode also seems to be taking steps toward gender equality by adding a prince to match the existing princess and a Mother Christmas to help Santa Claus get ready to deliver gifts to children all over the world on Dec. 25.

Sadly, there is still no Beyonce emoji. Your move, Unicode 10.0.

Here is just a smattering of the most exciting potential new emojis for 2016:

• Face With Cowboy Hat
• Selfie
• Pregnant Woman
• Face Palm
• Shrug
• Man Dancing
• Clinking Glasses
• Black Heart
• Avocado
• Cucumber
• Bacon
• Fox Face
• Shark
• Owl
