Marvel Comics' anti-hero Deadpool may not come across as kid-friendly in the comics, but one young fan who worships Deadpool had a wish come true thanks to his favorite superhero.

Tony Acevedo, who is battling Hodgkin's Disease aka Hodgkin's Lymphoma - a rare cancer of the lymph tissue which affects the immune system - asked Make-A-Wish-Foundation if he could meet his superhero. The foundation made his wish come true and arranged for Ryan Reynolds, who essays the role of Deadpool in Fox's adaptation of the standalone movie by the same name.

Reynolds was shooting for Deadpool in Vancouver when Make-A-Wish-Foundation contacted the 38-year-old actor with Tony's wish. Reynolds met Tony in the superhero avatar clad in the trademark red and black Deadpool costume.

Interestingly, Deadpool's alter ego Wade Wilson also battles cancer, which is present despite the character's healing powers.

Reynolds met Tony on the sets of Deadpool and posted two pictures with the young fan on his Instagram account on Friday, May, 22. One of the heartwarming pictures shows Tony in a Deadpool mask looking at Reynolds who is crouching in front of him.

The boy is pictured in one of them wearing a Deadpool mask and looking at the actor, who is crouched in front of him on bended knees, smiling.

"Tony Acevedo asked Make A Wish Foundation if he could meet Deadpool. I wasn't expecting him to sneak the mask, put on the gloves, smile... and then beat Deadpool about the face, arms and jugular with blazing speed. Tony's next fight is with Hodgkin's Disease. Hodgkin's Disease best be wearing its brown pants. Huge thanks to @makeawishamerica," wrote Reynolds on his Instagram.

Make-A-Wish-Foundation thanked Reynolds for making the little boy's wish come true.

"Thank you @vancityreynolds for granting Tony's wish (and for making it so amazing!) We agree - Tony is going to give Hodgkin lymphoma a good fight!" it wrote in an Instagram post.

Per the National Cancer Institite, Hodkin's Disease affects nearly 2.7 in 100,000 people. It is curable, but rarely affects children.

Deadpool the movie based on Marvel Comics' character is set for a February 2016 release.
