The controversial same-sex marriage recently focused the whole world's attention on Ireland after it legalized the act, making it the first country in the world to do so. One of those who showed support for the legalization was J.K. Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter series.

It was said that 62 percent of Irish people voted for the measure. However, not all across the globe supported the move. The Westboro Baptist Church in the U.S., for one, had been vocal about their disappointment in the election result.

Rowling turned to Twitter and called Ireland's voting in favor of marriage equality as "extraordinary" and "wonderful." Fans immediately tweeted back, then out of nowhere, the name Dumbledore popped up. It should be remembered Rowling at one point confirmed the Hogwarts headmaster was actually gay.

A fan tweeted hoping Professor Dumbledore and all the other witches and wizards would feel welcome in Ireland. Rowling tweeted back, saying that it's now possible for them to get married in Ireland.

Rowling also shared a meme that featured Dumbledore and Gandalf, from Lord of the Rings, with a caption that said: "What if Dumbledore and Gandalf were gay together."

"Sitting here watching the Irish make history. Extraordinary and wonderful," tweeted Rowling.

"@jk_rowling proud to see us being so open and accepting, at long last! I hope Dumbledore and all witches and wizards feel welcome here," tweeted Aoife (@justaoifethings).

"@justaoifethings Then they could get married IN IRELAND!," Rowling responded.

It was then at this point when the WBC decided to "join" in the conversation, reiterating once again their stance on the issue of gay marriages.

"So @jk_rowling wants Dumbledore & Gandalf to marry in Ireland; if it happens, WBC will picket!," tweeted WBCSays (@WBCsigns).

The tweet did not only target the Harry Potter fanbase but it also attacked the Lord of the Rings fanbase as well. This means that the WBC must have a huge army to be able to match around 10,000 or more of those affected by their rant.

However, it looks like their words are no match with Rowling's, who tweeted back and finally placed the WBC right where they belong.

"Alas, the sheer awesomeness of such a union in such a place would blow your tiny bigoted minds out of your thick sloping skulls."
