From 1987 to 1990, the biggest obstacle in the path of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls to an NBA championship was the Detroit Pistons team, with the "Bad Boys" eliminating MJ's Bulls in three straight postseasons.

So call it lingering bad blood or a flat-out opinion, but former Pistons enforcer Bill Laimbeer says he would take LeBron James over Jordan any day.

"There's no question I would take LeBron James," Laimbeer said on The Dan Patrick Show on Thursday. "He can do more. Michael Jordan could score and make big shots and look spectacular at times with wild flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds, get you 15 assists, or score 50 if he wants to. The triple threat he poses is just phenomenal, and the size — he just physically dominates. It's impressive."

Laimbeer – who's currently the head coach of the WNBA's New York Liberty – also suggested that Jordan wouldn't have been able to lead this Cleveland Cavaliers team to the NBA Finals, the way James just did this week.

"Look at what LeBron has in the Finals right now," Laimbeer added. "Could anybody else in the world have led this team of role players to the Finals right now? I don't think so. Jordan could not have led this team to the Finals."

We beg to differ — but if you say so, Bill.
