Indicted by the United States Department of Justice on a dizzying array of corruption charges, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is in a firestorm of problems with the world literally watching to see what happens next.

Adding to FIFA's dismay is the fact that the international soccer federation is holding an election on Friday to name its next president. A presidential election after being indicted on corruption charges? That's a perfect storm of badly-timed mess.

That's precisely why longtime ESPN personality Bob Ley shredded a FIFA press release live on Sportscenter on Friday. Can you blame him? If FIFA is battling corruption charges, can we really take a press release from them seriously at this point? They're playing by their own rules...and so Ley followed suit by playing by his own rules, too. Watch the entertaining moment here.

Despite FIFA being mired in a whirlwind of controversy, Friday's presidential election remains important...especially to the United States and its chances to land the 2026 Wold Cup, which it's expected to bid on aggressively.

According to ESPN, the U.S. will vote for Jordan's Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein over the embattled current president Sepp Blatter because it feels Prince Ali can unseat him and actually aid in it landing the World Cup in 11 years.

FIFA is up against federal charges, including racketeering and money laundering, with the U.S. Department of Justice alleging that it accepted upwards of $100 million in bribes to control media rights agreements for major soccer tournaments.
