Ryan Reynolds has announced that Deadpool filming is finally over. Now, the team behind the movie will focus on adding the special effects among other things, in time for the February 2016 release date.

Reynolds took to Twitter to make the big announcement, along with thanking fans for their role in making the Deadpool movie a possibility after years of delay and the film's ultimate cancellation.

"#Deadpool has been a privilege to make. And we got to make this film because of you. Gonna eat a samich now. #wrapped" he posted.

It's great that Deadpool has finally been made real after years in the den. The fans are not the only reason why this film became real. Reynolds should be recognized as well since he pushed Fox and probably had a hand in the leaked animated test footage that got everyone excited.

What's most important here is that Deadpool is rated R. For a second we thought Fox would have gone for a PG-13 rating, but going down this route shows confidence in the character and the movie overall not to dumb it down for a wider audience.

Who is Deadpool?

He's known as the "Merc with a Mouth," a man who due to an experiment, suffered third-degree burns, which ultimately made him crazy and immortal. He's able to heal quickly from almost any form of deadly wound, and this is because he shares similar DNA to the Wolverine.

Despite being experimented on with Wolverine's DNA, Deadpool is able to heal much faster. We doubt Wolverine would survive having his head chopped off and body cut into pieces, but Deadpool has done this time and time again.

Deadpool is also a character who can break the fourth wall. We understand this will be used in the movie. Writers usually have the character do this for comedic relief, and it has proven to work so well to the point that Deadpool is not Deadpool without it.

Check out the movie on February 12, 2016.
