We all know the first rule of Fight Club, but how could we not share this news?

Just a week after Dark Horse Comics released the first issue of the comic book sequel to Chuck Palahniuk's novel Fight Club, Rare Bird Lit announced the official accompaniment to the miniseries, a line of vinyl audiobooks to serve as a prequel to the story.

It's hard to believe that it has been just about 20 years since Fight Club was released. Just when we thought that the only way to experience the characters was by streaming the 1999 film adaptation starring Edward Norton and Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden, we learned that Palahniuk is resurrecting Durden from his imagination.

The comic book sequel (written by Palahniuk, with art by Cameron Stewart) picks up 10 years after Project Mayhem, following Durden's uneventful life. Now a husband and father, he takes pills to keep his inner demon at bay, but this doesn't last for long.

If Durden is coming out for the first time in 20 years, might as well keep him out for as long as we can. Palahniuk also features Durden in another short story for his new collection called Make Something Up: Stories You Can't Unread.

And now fans can get more of the character with the upcoming release of the prequel titled Expedition.

The audiobook is voiced by Palahniuk, and will explore Tyler Durden's original story — before the events in the bestselling novel.

The author released an excerpt of Expedition from his new short story collection on SoundCloud that features music by Brian Jonestown Massacre's Rob Campanella.

The LP vinyl features album art from David Mack, who also created the cover art for Fight Club 2.

The first issue of Fight Club 2 is available in select bookstores and comic shops, as well as digitally on the Dark Horse app.

Expedition is available for preorder now for $30 through Rare Bird Books for a limited time. An exclusive copy of the audiobook will also be sold at the Random House booth at San Diego Comic Con from July 8-12.

A graphic novel collection based on Fight Club is expected to be released next year.
