So far, it seems like everyone's happy with the latest iteration of Super Smash Bros. It may not hold the fighting game acclaim that Super Smash Bros. Melee does, but most competitive players will agree that it's miles ahead of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It's fast, it's fun and it's got a ton of different characters to choose from - what's not to love?

Well, for some, it's the character selection that's the problem: while the initial 48-character roster was nothing to sneeze at, there were some notable absences. Lucas, Star Wolf, Solid Snake and the Pokemon Trainer were all introduced in Brawl, but were left on the cutting room floor when the latest game was released. Thankfully, Nintendo's been using the game's DLC as a way to bring back fan-favorites: first up was MewTwo, while Lucas (star of the Japan-only Mother 3) will be the second.

The only problem is that, for a long time, Nintendo was extremely tight-lipped on when Lucas would arrive. Fans knew he was coming back, just not when...but that's no longer the case, as Lucas will hit the Nintendo eShop on June 14th!

In terms of cost and distribution, Lucas' release will be identical to MewTwo's. Players will receive a notification when starting up the game, and will be given a link to the Super Smash Bros. eShop page. From there, players can purchase Lucas for $3.99 on either individual platform, or for $4.99 on both Wii U and 3DS - after a short download, Lucas will be ready to fight!

From what Nintendo's shown, Lucas looks to be extremely similar to his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl: all of his moves, special techniques and Final Smash are identical to his previous version. There will likely be some tweaks, but if you're still playing as Lucas in Brawl, don't expect there to be a big learning curve.

So far, Nintendo's kept pretty hush-hush about any possible DLC after Lucas hits the roster, but the publisher did set up a page for players to vote on who they'd want to see in the game. Who knows - maybe fans will finally get an idea of who'll be joining MewTwo and Lucas at this year's E3?

For now, however, two extra fighters should be plenty: Lucas hits Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS on June 14.
