Cartoon Network Studios will produce a reboot of one of the network's popular series, Ben 10, that will premiere on Cartoon Network international channels fall 2016, followed by a 2017 premiere in North America.

Ben 10, which first debated back in 2006, follows the story of 10-year-old Ben Tennyson, who finds an alien device that gives him the power to change into aliens.

The animated series aired for 10 years, with more than 230 episodes produced. Man of Action, the team who originally produced the series, joins the new production team as executive producer, along with supervising producer John Fang.

"We decided it was time to introduce Ben to a new generation of kids," Cartoon Network Chief Content Officer Rob Sorcher told Deadline. "Ben 10 has been an overwhelming success story across all media platforms, and we know kids around the world will be eager to see the reinvention of this beloved character."

The Ben 10 reboot will bring back the alien-kid hero to the small screen, along with new and old aliens. Reviving the cartoon's story in the new season, Ben, his cousin Gwen, and Grandpa Max are traveling during summer vacation when Ben stumbles upon the Omnitrix, which gives him alien superpowers.

With four linked animated series, one animated movie and two live-action movies, and toys and games, the Ben 10 franchise has earned $4.5 billion in retail sales. It only makes sense that the network would decide to revive the beloved character and his alien co-stars.

Cartoon Network is not the only ones to be involved in classic cartoon revivals. Disney announced that a DuckTales reboot will come to Disney XD in 2017, and Netflix will feature classic cartoons like Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse. Adult Swim and Cartoon Network series have also been added to Hulu, and Viacom launched a subscription video service in March called Noggin, which airs old episodes of shows like Blue's Clues and Little Bear.

Alien fans can check out the revived Ben 10 series in 2017.
