The Disney movie Smart House is becoming a reality - with Apple's HomeKit, introduced this afternoon by Craig Federighi, senior vice president, at WWDC 2015.

HomeKit is the first product of its kind to synthesize various household accessories and components with a centralized control platform. According to Apple, the "iOS app is primarily designed to provide home configuration or home automation services such as turning on a light or opening a garage door[.]"  Additional features include sensors for thermostats and home security.

All HomeKit devices will be accessible through iCloud, and can be triggered using Siri, with an integration on watchOS.
