Back in February, Cartoon Network announced in its agenda for the 2015-2016 TV season that it will bring back the popular animated series, The Powerpuff Girls. On Monday, the network revealed a first look at the girls' look and cast — and we can't wait to get a fresh dose of sugar, spice and everything nice.
The new character design of the three crime-fighting super-girls is not much different from their original look. They do appear to look a bit more bubbly, with slightly more rounded faces, compared with their original oval shape. Buttercup's eyes also appear to be more sharp than her previous design. These tiny tweaks are, however, the only changes to the adorable characters.

While there are not many differences in the artwork, the cast of The Powerpuff Girls reboot is entirely new. The voice actors star Amanada Leighton as Blossom, Kristen Li as Bubbles and Natalie Palamides as Buttercup. Cartoon Network introduced the new voices of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup in individual videos on Twitter.

Tom Kenny will reprise his roles as the Narrator and the Mayor. Bob Boyle (The Fairy OddParents) will service as executive producer, and Nick Jennings (Adventure Time) will serve as art director and supervising producer.
Created by Craig McCracken, The Powerpuff Girls is about three schoolgirls who received superpowers after their creator, Professor Utonium, mistakenly drops "Chemical X" into the "sugar, spice, and everything nice" formula he used to concoct them.
The show first debuted on Cartoon Network in 1996, earning two Emmy Awards during its 78-episode run.
The reboot will follow the same original story as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup fight crime, defeating villains like Mojo Jojo, Medusa, and the Gangrene Gang — all before bedtime.
It appears that the current trend in Hollywood is to continue pumping out reboots, but this is a common practice on the small screen. Popular cartoons like DuckTales, Inspector Gadget and Ben 10 are all in the works for comebacks.
The Powerpuff Girls reboot is set to air in 2016.
