Amiibo shortages have been a major black-eye for Nintendo ever since the first wave of interactive toys launched alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Many figures sold out instantly, and for a long time it was unclear if certain figures would ever be available again in the future.

Nintendo issued a formal apology for the entire amiibo situation last month, saying the company would look at bringing back old figures and increasing the number of amiibo shipped to stores. It looks like we are now seeing some of the results of Nintendo's promise to their customers, as the video game company took to Twitter to announce two extremely difficult to find amiibo would be returning to store shelves in limited quantities.

Wii Fit Trainer released during the first wave of amiibo figures and was instantly never seen again. Pit came as part of the toy lines second wave and suffered a similar fate, with many fans resorting to having to import the figures from overseas or pay outlandish prices on eBay in order to complete their collections.

It sounds like there still won't be a huge supply of Wii Fit Trainers and Pits roaming free in the wild, but maybe a few fans will get lucky and find what they are looking for.

Expect more amiibo news to come out of Nintendo's upcoming E3 Nintendo Direct, where the company will announce their plans for new games and toys coming in the near future . In other Nintendo news, Hyrule Warriors will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS, as will a new 3DS entry in the not-so-popular Sonic Boom series.
