Way back in October 2013, a gentleman named Angus MacLane submitted a model to LEGO Ideas for a build of his own creation. That model was Pixar's WALL•E, and he didn't just come up with the LEGO version.

He actually worked on the Pixar film.

Lickety-split, MacLane's model acquired the 10,000 fan votes required to put it in front of LEGO's review board, and after some deliberation, they decided to go for it and build a consumer model. The final version has been spotted on an online retailer's website, and it's just the cutest darn thing you've ever seen.

If you take a look at MacLane's original WALL•E, it's easy to see that the final version is pretty different. Here's a side-by-side comparison. What do you think? The new one is more detailed and strikes us as much more expressive. We're also digging the little plant he's holding, which is part of the kit.

It's unknown how many pieces LEGO WALL•E will consist of, but the set is expected to go on sale in December for approximately $40. Based on LEGO's standards, that price puts it in around the 300-400 piece range.
