Full House star John Stamos was home Saturday after being apprehended by the police who later on cited the actor as driving under the influence around Beverly Hills.

Stamos, who was driving alone, was asked by the police to pull over on Friday evening. According to the police, several calls had reached their office at around 7:45 p.m. which reported about a possible drunken driver being spotted. The actor was later on brought to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he had to be observed for a possible medical condition. The hospital confirmed that Stamos was driving under the influence. Stamos was consequently arrested and cited for DUI. He was released later and placed under the care of the hospital, said the police.

Barely a day after his DUI arrest, Stamos turned to Twitter to thank his supporters. He also didn't forget to express his appreciation for the police and the hospital staff.

Stamos will have to attend a hearing in a Los Angeles court on Sept. 11 to answer to the DUI charge.

In Los Angeles, a person who is found by the jury to be guilty of the DUI charge will have to attend DUI education classes. Moreover, he could be placed under probation and will have to pay a fine. If the person is placed on probation, his DUI attorney will go with him to court if necessary where he would make sure that the court is satisfied with his client who is doing well while under probation.

John Stamos' arrest came a month after the actor made headlines upon announcing the reboot of Full House. The original sitcom aired on ABC beginning in 1987 until 1995. The new series, which will bear the title Fuller House, will debut on Netflix in 2016.

Stamos, who will also be the producer of the 13-episode reboot, will reprise his role in the sitcom as Uncle Jesse. He will be joined by his Full House co-stars that include Andrea Barber, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure and Bob Saget.
