We've seen it time and time again this console generation. On PlayStation 4, a game will run at 30 frames per second at 1080p, while on Xbox One that same game will instead run at 30 frames per second at 900p, with one recent example being The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

It's a small difference that at the end of the day isn't all that noticeable, but it has provided plenty of fuel for the fire when it comes to online debates about which gaming console is superior.

Don't expect Fallout 4 to help the argument one way or the other when it releases this holiday season. Developer Bethesda has gone on record to say that their long-awaited open world RPG will run identically on Xbox One and PS4 at 30fps and 1080p. If you are playing on PC, frame rate and resolution won't be limited in any way. As usual, if you've got a powerful enough computer to do it, you can.

At this time the only difference between the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Fallout 4 will be the inclusion of mods on the Xbox version. Bethesda announced during Microsoft's E3 press conference last week that mod support would be coming to the Xbox One version of Fallout 4 in early 2016, which will allow players to download the same user created mods players on the PC will be enjoying.

It sounds like mods may eventually come to the PS4 version as well, but the feature will be coming to Xbox One first. That is definitely a big selling point for gamers who own both consoles and need to decide where they will be playing the game.

Fallout 4 releases on Nov. 10 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. For more Fallout 4, be sure to check out all the new information we learned about the game at E3 this year.
