Most of the new Android Wear watch faces are completely free to download and install, with only two out of the 17 new faces requiring users to pay $0.99.

Even if the new watch faces are able to breathe new life into Android Wear devices, not everything is going great for wearables running on Google's operating system.

Google recently admitted that there is a bug within Android Wear 5.1.1 that is causing the batteries of the devices running the operating system to drain faster.

A representative for Google acknowledged the issue, adding that the company is currently working on a solution to the frustrating problem.

The devices that are affected by the battery drain issue include the Sony Smartwatch 3, the Samsung Gear Live, the LG G Watch, the LG G Watch R and the LG G Watch Urbane. The Moto 360 does not seem to be affected by the bug yet, but Motorola is soon releasing Android Wear 5.1.1 to the smartwatch, which could introduce the issue to the device if Google does not release a fix to the problem first.

It is not clear what is causing the batteries of the Android Wear 5.1.1 devices to drain faster, though there have been theories that the issue is linked to Google Play Services or Google Maps.
