The season finale of Game of Thrones still has fans gasping in disbelief. One of the most hair-pulling deaths, which book readers have known about for years, finally came to pass on the HBO show.

Jon Snow, bastard of Eddard Stark, newly appointed Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, was killed by his own men.

The last few fleeting moments we saw of Jon Snow were of him lying in the snow in a pool of his own blood, with his eyes gazing blankly up into the sky, but is it really the end of him?

Fans have been pegging him as the possible savior of Westeros, but with his heart no longer beating, it will be difficult for him to save the realm. Theories are abuzz about whether he is truly a goner. Even the Mother of Dragons herself, Emilia Clarke, weighed in on whether she thinks Jon will be back.

Just like her character on the show, Clarke is hopeful about the future. She believes there is a 50/50 chance that Jon will be back to take the black another day.

When it comes to storylines, Clarke said in an interview with MTV that there are a number of "helpful people" who have the ability to theoretically bring him back to life. One fan favorite is Melisandre, the Red Priestess who sacrificed Princess Shireen to the Red God—but in vain because Stannis still lost the battle and his life.

Perhaps she might use her shadow magic to resurrect Jon Snow.

We also can't forget about his half brother, Bran Stark, who is currently honing his powers beyond the Wall. Perhaps he may be able to perform a miracle to bring Jon back as well.

Then, of course, there is the Night's King who has the ability to bring the dead back to life as White Walkers or as zombie-like creatures, but that is one possibility that we, the fans, are definitely hoping will not come to pass.

On a personal level, Clarke was absolutely stunned when she read the script that would kill off the character of her good friend, Kit Harrington.

"I called David and Dan, and I took Kit out for numerous drinks, and was like, 'what the... what the... you're leaving me?'" she said when she found out about his fate.

Then again, the show's creators, who are rumored to already know the ending to George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, have been very good at keeping storylines under wraps.

Clarke shared that they probably would not tell her the truth anyway even if she asked if Jon Snow would be resurrected.

"They know that I can't lie very well," she said. "I can, with all honesty, say I have no idea what's happening," she said.

It looks like even the Khaleesi has to wait for Game of Thrones season 6 to return next year to find out if Jon Snow will indeed be buried in the snow or not.
