Kate and Oliver Hudson have been publicly disowned by their biological father Bill Hudson. The move by the 65-year-old actor came after hurtful Instagram posts were made by both of his children on Father's Day.

Bill Hudson has publicly slammed his children Oliver and Kate along with their mother and his ex-wife Goldie Hawn following posts by both children on Father's Day. Oliver's post was the most scathing of the two, as he presented a 30-year-old picture of himself and his sister smiling and happy with their father but captioned it: "Happy Abandonment Day... @Katehudson" addressing it to his sister.

Oliver's post went viral on social media, and Kate chimed in further with a subtler post, which didn't directly address her biological father but instead pictured her with Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn's long-term partner, and stated: "Pa, just simply... thank you. Happy Father's Day. I love you to the moon and back." Oliver then followed with a similar post about Russell, also referring to him as "Pa."

Now, Bill Hudson is hitting back, claiming that he is officially disowning Kate and Oliver: "I had five birth children but I now consider myself a father of three. I no longer recognize Oliver and Kate as my own.... They are no longer a part of my life. Oliver's Instagram post was a malicious, vicious, premeditated attack. He is dead to me now. As is Kate. I am mourning their loss even though they are still walking this earth."

Bill also stated that he no longer wants the two children using the name Hudson and has removed all pictures of them from his house and discarded their baby booties, which he previously kept for good luck.

He defended his behavior as a father and blamed ex-wife Goldie Hawn for making it impossible for him to be in his children's lives as much as he wanted to.

"We had a custody arrangement but Goldie constantly flouted it," he claimed. "I'd turn up to see the kids and would discover Goldie had taken them on the private jet to her home in Colorado. She gave interviews about her 'wonderful' relationship with Kurt and how the kids called him 'Pa.' She described me as an absent father. I'd call her and go, 'Goldie, how can you say that?' but she'd just reply: 'It's a better story.'"

Bill also says Oliver chose Father's Day to post the pictures in order to inflict the most harm possible, and that it may have been a desperate attempt to get attention after living in the shadows of his much more famous mother and sister.
