Video footage from the International Space Station showed an unusual sight that some people claim are unidentified flying objects racing away from the Earth. Strangely enough, as soon as the footage was broadcast, the space agency shut down video transmission. This action further fueled speculation that NASA is covering up the presence of flying saucers visiting Earth.

During NASA TV broadcasts, the space agency routinely cuts from one camera to another, to show a different angle or when targets move out of range. However, some viewers believe the change in transmission during this unusual broadcast was designed to prevent the general public from learning that aliens are visiting Earth.

"Please stand by. The High Definition Earth Viewing experiment is either switching cameras, or we are experiencing a temporary loss of signal with the International Space Station," the NASA video feed read immediately after the images went dark. Some researchers are stating that the odd lights seen in the video coverage have a natural origin, and that the camera showing them suddenly went dead due to a technical error, or by being impacted by a micrometeorite or piece of debris floating in space, perhaps from a satellite or rocket booster.

The pair of dots seen apparently rising from our planet look as if they are orbiting around one another as their distance from Earth increases.

The quality of the video is very low, and no detail is visible on the objects of interest. Although the video zooms in on the lights following the normal broadcast, there are still several more prosaic explanations of what could be responsible for the sighting. A satellite could be reflecting light in such a way to produce the effect, according to some researchers.

"UFO spotters love to see any object or flick of light out there as proof that extraterrestrial craft are monitoring our planet, and are keeping an eye on the ISS at a distance," Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, told the press.

This event is the latest finding to fire up the imaginations of UFO theorists. A photo taken on Mars on May 7 by the Curiosity rover appears to show an object which looks like a pyramid. Another pyramid-shaped object was also recently spotted on the dwarf planet Ceres.

Video footage of the strange lights appearing to race away from the Earth is available on a YouTube channel managed by a user named Mister Enigma. It is recommended to watch the video in full screen mode, as the mysterious lights are small, and difficult to see.
