To shine bright like a diamond is any little girl's dream, but with the many women who are now dominating the music industry, it is getting harder to stand out and make a difference.

One woman is opening her umbrella, though, preparing for a rainfall of praises and well wishes for achieving a first in the music industry: setting a record for being the first artist to sell 100 million digital singles.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced that Rihanna is on the number one spot of its list of artists with the most digital single awards. Riri garnered more than 100 million gold and platinum song certifications. The "A Girl Like Me" singer is the first artist to exceed RIAA's 100 million cumulative single award threshold.

The chairman and CEO of RIAA, Cary Sherman, was the first to praise the artist for this momentous occasion.

"Congratulations to Rihanna! She has not only surpassed RIAA's one hundred million mark, but also is the first artist to do so. It's an historic feat and a testament to an extraordinary career," he said.

Rihanna's post on Instagram showed her creativity by starting off her caption with "histoRIH", clearly using her nickname "Rih" as a pun.

Rihanna's other achievements include her nine-time multi-platinum award for the single "We Found Love" while the songs "Stay," "What's My Name" and "Only Girl (In The World)" each garnered a six-time multi-platinum nod off.

Her new song "Four Five Seconds" gained a two-time multi-platinum award while "Bitch Better Have My Money" has reached platinum. At the rate the 27-year-old is going, it's clear that her fans are saying: "Don't stop the music."
