After months of secrecy, new details continue to be revealed about the first stand-alone Star Wars movie, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.

On Wednesday, news broke that Darth Vader will appear in the film, and now, new plot details shed light on the role the epic villain will play in the film.

Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), and based on a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, Star Wars: Rogue One explores the events and characters beyond the Star Wars saga, occurring between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope.

The Disney film follows a band of rogue fighters who join forces to steal the blueprint to the Death Star — a plot which leads to the first Star Wars movie released in 1977, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.

And now we know a bit more about the roles of these rogue villains. According to source information given to Bloody Disgusting, Darth Vader will join the other villains, including Moff and bounty hunters, on the mission to get back the Death Star plans.

The new plot details are as follows:

Ben Mendelsohn's new Moff character is indeed the big baddie of Rogue One. The other main villains of the piece are bounty hunters hired by the Moff to quietly retrieve the stolen Death Star plans at all costs. Vader factors in once he realizes that the plans have been stolen, so he joins the hunt in a supporting role and is none too pleased.

These bounty hunters include Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, Zuckuss & 4LOM, IG-88, and Cad Bane, who is from 'Clone Wars' and is making his live action debut.

There might some new ones as well, but that's the core group. So Fett will absolutely appear on screen again in a semi-main role before his solo film.

Starring Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Sam Claflin, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, and Forest Whitaker, Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will hit theaters December 16.
