The first footage of Suicide Squad was recently shown at Comic-Con and ultimately Warner Bros. released it to the web. The footage is nothing out of this world, but it gives us an idea of what to expect from the finished product and the DC Cinematic Universe.

The trailer kicks things off with Amanda Waller having a chat with a few guys in what appears to be an expensive restaurant. She's eating steak, while talking about using criminals to create a new team. This team is highly expendable; if something goes wrong and it is not the fault of the team, they would be blamed for it.

Clearly the government doesn't care about these guys; they are deployed on the most dangerous missions no one else would dare attempt.

The scene quickly moves from Amanda Waller to Harley Quinn in a cage. She's upside down and flexing. She looks great and crazy at the same time.

Honestly, we have to admit that Margot Robbie, while she looks the part, doesn't actually sound the part. Her voice doesn't remind us of the Harley Quinn we've come to love over the years. We keep listening for it every time she opens her mouth, but nothing comes.

We get to see a bit of Deadshot and, since the actor is Will Smith, you just know he is going to have something to say. It appears the name "Suicide Squad" is Deadshot's idea in the film.

All the main characters are shown in this trailer. A few action sequences here and there, but the best part is near the end when the Joker shows up.

"I'm not gonna kill you!" the Joker says. "I'm just gonna hurt you really, really bad."

The scene shows the Joker torturing Harley Quinn or, should we say, Dr. Harleen Quinnzel. That's who she was before she went all crazy and became Harley Quinn. From what we can tell, the Joker is about to deliver shockwaves to her brain, causing Harleen to lose her mind.

At the end of the day, Suicide Squad does not excite us, but we have to bear in mind that what is shown is unfinished product. The movie is still filming and, since it comes out in August 2016, we expect to see an action-packed trailer before the end of 2015 or early 2016.
