Fans of Sons of Anarchy can hardly wait for another series from creator Kurt Sutter. And now we finally have the first look at his new drama for FX.

The first trailer for Kurt Sutter's medieval fictional drama Bastard Executioner debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, followed by a FX premiere during the first episode of Season 2 of The Strain. Those who missed the trailer can also now check it out online.

While the new show doesn't feature a group of murderous motorcyclists with family values, the series looks like it won't disappoint as far as action and violence goes.

Sounding a little like Jax Teller (the protagonist on Sons of Anarchy) set in medieval times, Bastard Executioner follows a warrior knight in King Edward 1's court during the early 14th century who swears he will never pick his sword up again after war changes him. But when violence comes knocking at his door, he picks up the bloodiest sword of all, and becomes the executioner.

The FX series stars newcomer Lee Jones, but there are a few familiar faces such as Sutter's wife and Sons of Anarchy deranged supermom Katey Sagal, and Timothy V. Murphy who played the Irishman Galen on the hit show.

Bastard Executioner also stars True Blood's vampire Bill actor Stephen Moyer, along with Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Sam Spruell, Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeney, Elen Rhys and Ethan Griffiths, with guest star Matthew Rhys.

Sutter reportedly began writing the scripts for the historical fiction series once Sons wrapped up in 2014. Joining the writing team is Charles Murray (writer/co-executive producer on the last two seasons of Sons), and Nichole Beattie (Sons of Anarchy, The Walking Dead).

Director Paris Barclay (who directed 15 episodes of Sons) directed the two-hour pilot episode. The series is currently filming in Wales, and will debut in September and run for 10 episodes in its first season.
