Startup Z Camera has launched a Kickstarter project for its E1 Camera, which is a 4K interchangeable lens camera that can work even with drones.

The Kickstarter project goal was of $42,000 but the project has already received a pledge of about $150,000.

The Z Camera team revealed on their Kickstarter page that it is creating a camera, which will deliver high quality images and videos without pinching the pocket. The E1 Camera will be the smallest 4K ultra HD camera, which will also have an interchangeable lens system. The camera is equipped with Wi-Fi, Ambarella A9 image processor and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

The E1 has the capability to capture 4,096 x 2,160 cinema-quality video at 24 frames per second. The camera can also capture ultra HD video of 3,840 x 2,160 at 30 frames per second. The E1 also has a 3D noise filter that reduces jitters and noise.

The four-thirds lens mount of the E1 can manage a wide variety of auto-focus (AF) lenses that are available from well-known brands like Sigma, Olympus, Leica and Panasonic Lumix.

"It also supports a variety of existing MF (manual-focus) lenses. In lieu of bulky DSLRs, E1 allows users to travel with an arsenal of lenses to capture the highest-quality footage possible," per E1's Kickstarter page.

Photographers can also attach the E1 to a drone to capture beautiful aerial photos. Users can also configure the camera remotely without the need of landing the drone. The E1 can be powered remotely and users can also download content to a connected Android or iOS device.

The Early Bird offer that would ship the body only of the E1 camera is for $449 and $499 but unfortunately, it is all gone. The project page is currently accepting pledges for $599 that will offer only the body of the camera, which will be shipped in November 2015. At launch the E1 is expected to have a price tag of $699.

For a pledge of $799, customers will get the body as well as a 14mm F2.5 lens from Panasonic.
