You may have heard of Pokkén Tournament. It's a Japanese arcade game that is a strange combination of 3D fighting seen in Bandai Namco's Tekken series crossed with Nintendo's infinitely popular Pokémon franchise. So far Nintendo/Bandai Namco haven't made any announcements about the game coming to North America, but a senior executive of American arcade chain Dave & Buster's says that might be changing soon.

Kevin Bachus, Dave & Buster's senior vice president of entertainment & game strategy, said in a recent AMA on Reddit that the nationwide restaurant and arcade franchise would be "testing" Pokkén Tournament.

His answer was a direct response to a question posed by Redditor Seven29, who asked "You guys are on good terms with Nintendo/Namco, right? Pokkén Fighters would be likely to at least get a location test if they offered it, right?"

"Yes. We will be testing Pokkén," Bachus replied. "Candidly both Namco and I are more optimistic about that title and our typical guests than Tekken."

Bachus didn't elaborate further on when exactly the game might be coming to North America or how many Dave & Buster's locations might get a playable Pokkén Tournament cabinet, but it is at least some form of confirmation that the game will eventually be playable outside of Japan. Bachus goes on to say that if the game tests well they would be bringing the game to all Dave & Buster's locations.

Pokkén Tournament features a number of iconic Pokémon characters like Machamp, Pickachu, Lucario, Charizard and many more. Each Pocket Monster has a variety of special moves at their disposal, as well as the ability to call in partner "assist" characters that will briefly appear to lend a hand.
