The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are expected to be released globally on Aug. 21. The Verizon Galaxy Note 5 and international variant have appeared in online benchmarks, confirming the high-end specs and differences in Samsung's next-generation Note phablet.

We're expecting to hear an official announcement from Samsung in the coming days of its August press event, where it will launch the successor to its Galaxy Note 4, the Note 5 and introduce a larger version of its popular and gorgeous Galaxy S6 Edge, in the form of the 5.7-inch S6 Edge Plus.

Images of both phablets recently leaked and gave the world its first look at the devices, which continue the same design trend Samsung introduced with the launch of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which both feature glass and metal bodies. Recently, leaked photos also showed off the Galaxy Note 5's improved S Pen, which has been rumored to have a new auto-eject feature. The pair have also made their way through the FCC for certification to run on Verizon and AT&T's 4G LTE networks and now Verizon's Note 5 and the international version of the device have appeared on online benchmarks revealing their specs and confirming at least one major difference between the two.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5 made an appearance on Geekbench under its model number Samsung SM-920V. The benchmark has confirmed that the phablet will be powered by a Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and 4GB of RAM. It was running Android 5.1.1 and likely an updated version of Samsung's TouchWiz Android skin, and received a benchmark score on par with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, which both use the same Exynos 7420 processor.

The international version of the Galaxy Note 5 has also been benchmarked and is listed by its model number of Samsung SM-N920F. The device was tested using CPU-Z and its complete spec list has been revealed. The international Galaxy Note 5 will differ to its U.S. version by using a Samsung Exynos 7422 processor. The chipset it said to be an improved version of the Exynos 7420 that powers the S6 and S6 Edge, and now apparently the U.S. Galaxy Note 5.

As always, we'll be covering all Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus information as it becomes available and report back to you.
