The "All-New, All-Different Marvel," aka Marvel's new, sort-of-rebooted universe, begins in October with the release of Invincible Iron Man #1.

A quick bit of backstory: Marvel Comics has decided to usurp Spider-Man's longstanding status as the company's mascot/icon and replace him with Iron Man, thanks to his popularity on the big screen. With the conclusion of Secret Wars, the Marvel Universe is starting fresh with new #1 comics across the board, so the first of them to launch will be the new Iron Man title. Celebrated veteran writer Brian Michael Bendis will write Invincible Iron Man with David Marquez handling art.

To celebrate the All-New, All-Different thing, Marvel is sending comic book stores a big batch of promotional items and directives for hosting their own Invincible Iron Man parties. Stores that opt-in for a party will receive exclusive variant comics, postcards, Skottie Young lithographs, store signs, cake toppers and more.

One of the most unique items is a promo piece that fans can collect to assemble their own model Iron Man, based on Marquez' new design. The model appears to be made of some kind of hard material, like cardstock or cardboard, which you'll fold and assemble. To make the entire model, Marvel will require you to collect all six pieces that make it up — and each piece comes in a separate comic (in very limited quantities).

The first three parts will be available with Invincible Iron Man #1 on October 7 along with Doctor Strange #1 and Contest of Champions #1. The remaining parts will come with Spider-Gwen #1 on October 14, Guardians of the Galaxy #1 on October 21, and Uncanny Inhumans #1 on October 28.

The finished model is said to stand about a foot high.

Some stores will also qualify to sell a special "Deadpool Party Variant" with Yasmine Putri, which depicts Deadpool trying to steal Iron Man's new armor.

In Invincible Iron Man #1, Tony Stark sets out with an all-new purpose. According to Marvel's solicitations:

"...The creators that brought you Ultimate Spider-Man [bring] new armor, new supporting cast, new villains and a new purpose that is going to tear itself across the entire Marvel Universe and beyond. With a shocker of a last page that will have everyone talking and the return of one of Tony's biggest nemeses... Also, who are Tony's biological parents? The quest begins here!"

Check with your local comic book retailer to find out if it is participating in the special Iron Man party on October 7, 2015.
