KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that Apple is set to announce new iMacs in the third quarter of 2015.

According to Kuo, the new iMacs will feature notable improvements such as more powerful processors and an enhanced display technology. The iMacs for this year's release will focus on image quality with emphasis on color saturation improvements, which is made possible by using KSF, a new LED phosphor material.

"We believe Apple will introduce new iMac models in 3Q15, which are expected to have key selling points such as more powerful processors and much better display quality. We predict the panel will use a LED phosphor material called KSF to notably boost color saturation," says Kuo.

However, there was no mention of whether Apple will have added display options and come up with a smaller display of 21.5 inches in its iMac lineup. It should be recalled that Apple released a number of iMac models in October that feature displays of 27 inches. The last time that Apple updated its iMac lineup was in September 2013, as the company felt the need to wait for the release of new desktop processors from Intel.

Kuo didn't say anything on the validity of early rumors involving an 8K iMac. Back in April, a press release suggested that Apple is debuting a super high-resolution iMac in the latter part of 2015. The notion is said to have come from LG, the display manufacturer of Apple. The latter is yet to announce, if there's any, the launching of the rumored device.

Kuo also predicts iMac sales to have an impressive growth of 100 percent quarter-over-quarter and that the total number of shipped units will reach up to one million at the end of the third quarter in 2015.

In October last year, Apple introduced its 5K iMac, which was billed as having one of the highest-resolution screens that has ever been made in an AIO computer.

Market research firm IDC also says that Apple is the only PC maker that saw a positive growth in the second quarter. In a recently concluded quarterly results conference call, Apple announced to investors that the company's Mac sales enjoyed a 9 percent jump year-over-year.

As a way to promote the upcoming iMacs, Apple is launching its "Back to School" program, which will allow a customer to get a pair of headphones from Beats Solo2 after purchasing a brand new iMac. The promo does not include the Mac mini.
