Customers looking to acquire an unlocked version of Samsung's current flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, should take advantage of an offer that is currently listed on eBay.

The eBay Samsung Galaxy S6 deal sets the price at only $479.99, less than half of its original retail price of $999.99.

The Galaxy S6 up for sale in the eBay listing is the international version, with version number G920i, and comes with 32GB of internal memory capacity. The listing also reveals that the device is not compatible with all carriers in the United States, as CDMA is not supported by this version of the Galaxy S6.

Subscribers under GSM networks such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Red Pocket Mobile, Net10 Wireless, and H2O Wireless will be able to use the Galaxy S6 being offered for the services that they are currently enjoying. Subscribers under CDMA networks such as Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and U.S. Cellular, however, will not be able to use the smartphone.

Both AT&T's 3G and LTE bands will work with the Galaxy S6 being sold, along with LTE for T-Mobile. However, T-Mobile's LTE services will be limited to its 1900MHz re-farmed HSPA+ areas.

There is also only a limited quantity of the devices being sold, with black being the only available color.

Customers in the United States can avail of free shipping upon purchasing the device, with taxes to be paid only by buyers located in Missouri. Buyers from outside the United States can also avail of the offer, as the seller has indicated that it can also ship the smartphone to other countries, but no longer free.

The $479.99 price tag for the Galaxy S6 appeared on eBay right after rumors of Samsung looking to cut the retail price of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge turned out to be true.

Samsung significantly lowered the price tags of its current flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, in the Netherlands. The price of the Galaxy S6 was decreased by €100, which is equivalent to about $110, while the price of the Galaxy S6 Edge was decreased by €150, which is equivalent to about $140.

While customers wait to see if Samsung will do the same for the United States, users can take advantage of special offers on Galaxy S6 smartphones popping up online such as the one right now on eBay.
