A GamesCom 2015 presentation of EA's new Star Wars Battlefront game ended with a new glimpse of the dark lord of the Sith. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-Anakin-Skywalker appeared for just a scant ten seconds as a little tag at the end of some great-looking footage from the game. But the message he conveyed was heard loud and clear.

Don't mess with Vader.

Since the very first trailer for Star Wars Battlefront ended with Darth Vader's arrival on Endor, gamers have known that he would appear in the game. But would he be a non-playing character? A story device seen only in cutscenes? Or might he actually be a playable character?

We still don't know the answer to that last part, but we know now that players will encounter him on the battlefield. And it would appear that the smart move if that happens is to run. A regular ol' Rebel soldier doesn't stand a chance against Vader, who can be seen in the new clip swatting away blaster shots like flies, with fluid, lifelike beauty thanks to the Frostbite 3 engine.

In all likelihood, Vader will be playable, as a reward for a streak of kills. And he will wreak incredible devastaton in battle. But unless opposing gamers are also playing as a powered-up bonus character like Luke Skywalker, players are hereby advised not to engage.

See for yourself.

Star Wars Battlefront arrives on November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
