With the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 multiplayer beta just days away, developer Treyarch just dumped a deluge of details about the brief testing period.

Disseminated through a trailer and blog post, the latest info on Black Ops 3 confirms the availability of seven game modes and three maps during the beta period. One of those seven modes is Demolition, a mode which was revived for Black Ops 2.

The seven multiplayer modes available during the beta are Team Deathmatch, Domination Demolition, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Capture the Flag and Search & Destroy. Like in Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 2 before it, Demolition with pit defenders and attackers against one another in a fight to destroy or protect a bomb site.

As for the playgrounds for the aforementioned modes, Treyarch is offering a sampling of the three maps. Each of them has been designed to make the best use of Black Ops 3's new "momentum-based chained-movement system," according to the game's creators.

"Hunted" takes place in and around a hunting lounge in Ethiopia. "Combine" is painted against the backdrop of the Egyptian Sahara and "Evac" is set in an evacuation zone on an overgrown rooftop in Singapore.

Treyarch has also introduced Black Ops 3 specialists, including operatives with the curious names of Prophet and Nomad—we'll leave it there.

"As you know, Specialists bring their own look, personality, voice and battle-hardened weapons and abilities to the fight," said Treyarch. "They can be ranked-up, delivering yet another layer to our progression system. Next week, PlayStation 4 players will start getting to know the default Specialists."

All of that hard work put into Black Ops 3's beta won't carry over to the fall.

"Since this is a Beta—and because it's important that we stress test the game in particular ways—we will have gated progression caps along the way," said Treyarch.

The beta will begin on Aug. 19 for PlayStation 4 and Aug. 26 for PC and Xbox One. Then on Nov. 6, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches globally for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. For now, check out the new trailer for Black Ops 3's beta:
