Granted, it's not exactly the star of today's Unpacked event in New York City, but Samsung's Galaxy Edge S6 Plus got its time to shine on stage. The phone sports similar specs to the new Note that was announced earlier today, including the same 5.7-inch Quad HD, Super AMOLED screen.

Though, naturally, as the name indicates, this ones got some curved edges for improved viewing angles and additional features, like the Apps Edge, which offers quick access to contacts and other info.

Inside the curvy new phone is an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, an impressive 4GB of RAM and either 32 or 64GB of storage.

The design language is similiar to its older, smaller sibling, the Galaxy S6 (and, for that matter, the new Note), featuring a metal frame and glass backing. Unlike the Note, however, there's no S-Pen present on this curvy 5.7-inch behemoth.

As with the Note 5, pre-orders for the handset kick off today at 3PM ET, with the phone going on sale next week on August 21st. Both devices ship with the forthcoming Samsung Pay mobile payment system, which is set to arrive here in the States next month.
