Samsung has just announced its new flagship phablets: the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. Here's a rundown on pricing, preorder, and release date details for Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile.

The battle for smartphone supremacy is heating up as summer is winding down. Apple is set to release its next-generation iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in September, which will retain the same design as its predecessors, but as with all "s" moniker iPhones, the pair will have a major new feature to entice users to upgrade. The smartphones are expected to ship with Force Touch displays, similar to the displays used in the Apple Watch that will be able to tell how hard the screen is pressed and offer users menus and shortcuts to different features.

Samsung has already laid its cards out on the table with its just-announced Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+, which deviated from Samsung's usual September IFA debut to get a jump-start on sales ahead of Apple's new iPhones.
