Fans have been making short films in Grand Theft Auto V PC since launch thanks to the game's built in video editing suite, Rockstar Editor. Some truly great (and truly bizarre) creations have come as a result, like a complete recreation of the music video for N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton" and the opening sequence of an episode of Scooby-Doo.

Now Rockstar is letting even more GTA V players flex their creative muscle with the announcement that Rockstar Editor will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in a future update.

Rockstar announced the feature in a post declaring the winners of their "Ill Gotten Gains" Rockstar Editor short film contest. Rockstar Social Club member Pimpedoutbadass won the contest with his appropriately named "What Ill-Gotten Gains Is All About" video.

Here is Rockstar's description of the grand prize winning film:

"Beginning with a seemingly hard-luck lady who does time at Bolingbroke after getting pinched for grand theft auto, pimpedupbadass takes her out of the joint and straight into the vault of the Fleeca Bank. From there, she and her Heist teammates hit the jackpot and proceed to enjoy the fruits of their labor - from a Ponsonbys shopping spree to joyriding across Southern San Andreas in the breathtaking Progen T20."

Pimedoutbadass will be receiving a custom G910 Orion Spark Gaming Keyboard and a G510 Proteus Core Gaming Mouse, each lazer-engraved with the Rockstar logo and his social club ID. He will also be receiving a prize pack of official GTA V gear and a $100 gift card to Rockstar's online store.

Two runner-ups will receive the GTA V gear pack and a $100 Rockstar Warehouse gift card as well for their trouble.

Not too bad, but Pimpedoutbadass and the rest of the contest participants are going to have even more competition with Rockstar's next film contest when Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players join the race. Rockstar hasn't yet announced details on what the theme will be, but they can expect more entries than ever before.

Rockstar says the next game update to GTA V on consoles will include the video editing tools, though the developer did not elaborate on when exactly that may be. Now if only mod support would come to the consoles. That would truly be something.
