'Batman: Arkham Knight' PC Interim Patch Coming In Next Few Weeks: Here's What To Expect

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight was deemed unplayable over various issues plaguing the game, but a patch could finally be ready to roll out soon.

Batman: Arkham Knight was one of the most highly-anticipated games of this year and numerous fans eagerly awaited its launch, but the PC port was so bad it could barely be played. After pulling the PC version from Steam and store shelves to address the issues, publisher Warner Bros. now finally has some exciting news: a patch to resolve some of the problems is currently in testing and could roll out soon enough.

In a new post on the Warner Bros Community, the publisher notes that the teams have been working on addressing the issues plaguing the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight and the first patch is now ready to enter the testing phase. If the tests go well, Warner Bros expects to release the fixes in the coming weeks.

The company promises to offer additional updates within the next couple of weeks to report on how the patch is working out.

A few big fixes and enhancements the future patch aims to bring to the table include:

Reduced frame rate hitches
Optimization of system memory, as well as VRAM usage
Enhanced performance on all Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), provided the latest drivers are installed; at the same time, the Radeon HD 7820 2GB is again the minimum spec AMD GPU
The patch will also add stronger in-game settings, such as:

1. The ability to change settings for maximum FPS to 30, 60 or 90

2. Toggles for Motion Blur, Film Grain and Chromatic Aberration

3. "High" Texture Resolution value

4. Option for Texture Filtering

5. Adaptive V-Sync option for NVIDIA users

6. VRAM Usage Meter

7. Mouse Sensitivity Slider an Mouse Smoothing Option

Hitches when running on mechanical HDDs fixed

In addition to these above-listed issues the upcoming patch aims to resolve, the team is also working on other areas such as the DLC/ Season Pass content, skippig the boot up splash screens, as well as a Photo Mode and other such updates.

If all goes well and the patch testing proves successful, the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight could soon receive the long-awaited update to make it work properly. In turn, this means that the game should also become available again on Steam and store shelves, resuming sales once the issues are fixed.
