Samsung's Ultimate Test Drive program designed to let iPhone users try out its latest Galaxy flagships ran out of available devices in no time.

With Apple's next-generation iPhones just around the corner, Samsung is making efforts to attract more customers to its devices. Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have already eaten into Samsung's Galaxy sales, especially the larger model, and Samsung wants to get an edge before its archrival unveils its 2015 iPhones in September.

Samsung kicked off a new program called Ultimate Test Drive, aimed at iPhone users who might want to switch to a Galaxy device. Simply put, this program allowed iPhone fans to get a new Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ or Galaxy Note 5 and try it out for 30 days, on the major carrier of their choice, complete with free voice, text and a data plan, for a meager processing fee of just $1. The program did not apply to other smartphone users, as only iPhone users were allowed to take advantage of the promotion.

"For just one dollar, you can try one of our latest Samsung phones for 30 days with no obligation. Your test drive kit will come with the phone of your choice, an activated sim card, and a step-by-step guide to help you start your test drive," Samsung touted on its promotional website. "After 30 days, if you buy a qualifying Samsung device, there's even more love in store for you."

It now seems that Samsung's Unlimited Test Drive was a smashing hit, as the company ran out of available devices shortly after kicking things off. The amount of Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 put aside for this promotion vanished in just a few hours, suggesting that plenty of iPhone users are willing to try out Galaxy smartphones.

In an update to its promotional website, Samsung notes that it's currently out of smartphones for the Unlimited Test Drive promotion. On the other hand, the company urges interested customers to check back for available devices, which suggests that Samsung plans to add more Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 test drive smartphones to the promotion.

It remains unclear for now just when more handsets will join the Unlimited Test Drive program, but Samsung will likely want to do it before Apple unveils its new iPhones. Apple is expected to announce its latest-generation smartphones on Sept. 9, which means that Samsung has about two weeks and a half to further shake things up with this promotion.
