VMware has released the updated version of virtualization tools Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro with support for Windows 10.

The software is handy for Mac users who are keen to run Windows on their system but do not want to boot into another operating system.

VMware launched Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro on Tuesday, Aug. 25, offering full support for Windows 10 (including access to always-on Cortana), and also for OS X El Capitan and the latest models of the Retina Macs.

"Today we are pleased to announce the worldwide availability of the VMware Fusion 8 and VMware Fusion 8 Pro. These releases mark a milestone achievement for our team within VMware, with fantastic new features and improvements in several areas," noted VMware's Michael Roy, senior product marketing manager for Fusion and Fusion Pro, in a blog post.

For those wondering about the update to graphics, the support has been updated to OpenGL 3.3 and DirectX 10. This will ensure graphics that is nearly 65 percent faster.

Both Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro have been optimized for iMac with Retina 5K display, as well as the 12-inch MacBook. Thanks to support for DirectX 10, Mac users will be able to run Windows 10 virtual machines on a 5K display.

The latest Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro versions are also compatible with several monitors that have different DPIs, as well as USB 3.0.

The virtual machine platform will also offer 64-bit support with each machine being assigned to a maximum of 16 vCPUs, 8TB storage (for a single machine) and 64GB of RAM.

Additionally, Fusion 8 Pro also brings with it integration with VMware vCloud Air, as well as better integration with VMware vSphere.

Both Fusion 8 and Fusion 8 Pro can now be purchased online from the VMware Store for $79.99 and $199.99, respectively. If you are on Fusion 6 or Fusion 7, you can upgrade to either Fusion 8 or Fusion 8 Pro for $49.99 and $119.99, respectively.
