Square — the financial merchant services and mobile payment company based in San Francisco — has launched the app version of its online booking service that works in conjunction with Google Calendar to streamline and simplify online booking and scheduling.

The app — currently available only on iOS, with the Android version still in the works — will act as a reiteration of its browser-based predecessor with added functionality and easy-of-use. Features on the app include: managing and editing appointments, a quick-access repository for client profiles, iPhone push notifications for added seamlessness and instant mobile payments.

Square has been involved with rolling out features for consolidating services for SMBs for most of the summer. It released Square Register in June, aimed at providing a payroll service for small businesses with workers paid by the hour; and in July, it launched a Dashboard app, built to help users access a range of analytics function, such as monitoring customer behavior and identifying selling items.

Access to all of the Appointments features would cost anywhere between $30 and $90 depending on the staff size. The app itself is available for download at the App Store.
