Android Wear watches now work with iOS, Google announced in a post on the company's blog Monday.

Google is rolling out Android Wear compatibility with any iPhone 5 or higher running iOS 8.2 or higher beginning Monday with the LG Watch Urbane smartwatch. The company will be adding more Android Wear watches in the future for consumers to use with the iPhone, such as models from Huawei, Asus and Motorola.

As for older Android Wear devices, it looks like the iOS won't work with them because they don't have the latest version of Android Wear pre-installed on them right out of the box, Engadget reports. For now, you will only be able to pair the latest Android watches with iPhones.

I'm not sure how many Android Wear owners would happen to have an iPhone instead of an Android smartphone — and vice versa, for that matter — but there's got to be a few of you out there, right? If you do set up your Android watch with your iPhone, you'll basically be able to do everything you would have done if you had an Android phone with which to pair it instead. That includes checking phone calls, messages and notifications from apps, tracking your fitness, receiving reminders and getting voice-activated updates on info like the weather.
