If you missed it the first time around, you'll get a second chance to play the Deadpool video game when it comes to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this year.

Depite being developed by High Moon Studios (who did great work on Transformers: War for Cybertron and its sequel), the game received average reviews when it released in 2013 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Critics said the game did deliver some laughs from the "Merc with a Mouth", but others found Deadpool's signature brand of comedy grating.

The game's combat system is also cited as a problem, with reviewers calling out the game's simplistic melee combat, poorly implemented shooting elements and lack of enemy variation. On Xbox 360, the game sits at a 62 Metacritic score. While Metacritic has plenty of flaws, it does help give an overall impression of a game's reception. With 37 "Mixed" reviews and two "Negative" scores, Deadpool didn't make much a splash when it released.

So what comes in this "HD Remastering" of the title? Not much outside of presumed graphical boost from running on more recent hardware, though two DLC levels and two alternate costumes will be including in the $50 package.

If $50 sounds steep, that's because it kind of is. Microsoft recently released Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which includes additional story chapters, multiplayer maps and completely overhauled visuals not seen in the Xbox 360 version of the game, for $40. We called it one of the best remastering's we've seen to date and a bargain to boot.

Chances are the re-release of Deadpool won't earn the same praise, but it's hard to blame Activision. With positive buzz surrounding the upcoming Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds, it's not at all surprising that the publisher is looking to make some extra cash by giving this title the "HD Remaster" treatment just in time for the movie.

Deadpool (the game) releases on Nov. 17, 2015. Deadpool (the movie) is in theaters February 12, 2016.
