Amazon launched a Nintendo store that allows gamers to digitally download games and DLC packs for the 3DS, Wii U and Wii consoles.

Becoming the first online retailer in the U.S. to sell the codes for Nintendo games, there are currently more than 50 titles available to download, including Super Mario Maker, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3DS and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity through Amazon's Nintendo Digital Downloads Store.

In order to redeem the code to download the game or DLC, the player must follow a three-step process. First, complete the purchase through Amazon and then click on the Nintendo Network link that will be provided on the thank you page. Log into your Nintendo Network Account, and the code will automatically appear. Click the "Reedem" button and the game will be sent directly to your Nintendo device.

While games are also sent directly to the gamer's Nintendo device when consumers opt to purchase content from Nintendo's eShop, they now have an alternative online retailer from which to buy digital copies of the games. However, if you think that you may get a better deal on Amazon, that is not necessarily the case. While Amazon might have a sale from time-to-time, as of now, its prices offered in the Nintendo Digital Downloads Store are the same as Nintendo's eShop. For example, Super Mario Maker is available to preload for the Wii U, retailing on both online stores for $59.99.

Amazon also has consoles like Nintendo's 3DS XL, and bundles including Wii U Deluxe Sets: Super Mario 3D World and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer Bundle for the 3DS available to purchase as well.
