Digital media analytics firm comScore just released its latest U.S. market report, revealing that Apple, Facebook and Facebook Messenger dominate mobile.

The latest report consists of data from comScore MobiLens and Mobile Metrix on core trends for July 2015 in the U.S. smartphone market.

The report looks at top OEMs, top apps and top platforms, revealing key trends. Apple again took the #1 spot as the top smartphone manufacturer, grabbing a 44.2 percent OEM market share, while Android led the charge as the top smartphone platform with a 51.4 percent share of the platform market. Facebook, meanwhile, is the #1 individual smartphone app.

The top 15 smartphone apps remained largely the same, but Facebook Messenger dethroned the YouTube app from the second spot. At the same time, the new Apple Music is now #14, replacing the iTunes Radio app, while Snapchat comes last in the top, on the #15 spot.

Notably missing from the top 15 smartphone apps, however, is WhatsApp, which is a bit surprising considering that it just announced that it has 900 million monthly active users.

The complete top 15 smartphone apps, according to comScore, has Facebook, Facebook Messenger, YouTube, Google Search and Google Play as the top 5 apps, in order, followed by Google Maps, Pandora Radio, Gmail, Instagram and Yahoo Stocks as #6, #7, #8, #9 and #10 spots. Rounding up the top 15 are Apple Maps, Amazon Mobile, Twitter, Apple Music and Snapchat on #11, #12, #13, #14 and #15, respectively.

The top 5 all have strong app audiences, with Facebook reaching 73.3 percent, Facebook Messenger 59.5 percent, YouTube 59.3 percent and Google Search 52 percent.

When it comes to smartphone OEM market share, Apple ranked top with 44.2 percent of smartphone subscribers, Samsung ranked second with 27.3 percent, LG ranked third with 8.7 percent, while Motorola and HTC grabbed the fourth and fifth spots with 4.9 and 3.5 percent, respectively. During the three months ending in July, according to comScore, mobile market penetration reached 77.1 percent, with 191.4 million people in the U.S. owning smartphones.

In terms of platform market share, Android ranked top with 51.4 percent, Apple's iOS came in second with 44.2 percent, Microsoft's platform ranked third with 2.9 percent, BlackBerry grabbed the fourth spot with 1.3 percent, while Symbian seized a meager 0.1 percent.
