Word on the street has it, that LG is getting ready to unveil a massive phablet to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Dubbed the LG G4 Note, or in some instances the LG G4 Pro, the rumored handset has reportedly made its way to the TENAA, the Chinese counterpart of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, and the rumor has pictures to prove it.

The pictures, which were first spotted by G for Games, showcase a device with model number LG-H968, and it could very possibly be the G4 Note that is expected to be unveiled on Oct. 10. The pictures themselves do not show what specs the device could be touting, but they are in line with some of the rumors floating around the unannounced smartphone.

For one thing, the pictures show a huge camera bump on the upper center at the back of the device, which could possibly match up to a rumor by Gotta Be Mobile that the G4 Note will have a 27MP primary camera, much bigger than the 16MP shooter found on the LG G4. The pictures also show a laser autofocus unit and two-tone dual-LED flash on both sides of the camera. On the front, it appears LG is also making substantial changes to the selfie camera, which might possibly have laser autofocus as well.

As we earlier reported, however, the G4 Note will not receive a premium design, and LG executives have been careful against associating the device with flagship status. The pictures do not contradict this and, in fact, show a device that seems to have a textured plastic body with an aluminum frame on the sides to make it look like it has a bezel-free display, possibly to make room for all 5.8 inches of the very large display.

The phone also appears to have a removable battery and microSD slot, owing to the removable back cover and the fact that LG has retained this highly sought after features in the LG G4. The back cover also displays a round power button and what seems to be a fingerprint scanner outlined by an aluminum ring, similar to that seen on the fingerprint scanner of the Nexus 6.

Lastly, the TENAA filing says the device has support for TD-LTE, LTE FDD, TD-SCMA, WCDMA and GSM. It also has a second SIM slot for dual-SIM capabilities, a hint that the device could be aimed at the Asian market, where dual-SIM phones are a big hit.

As always, it is always best to take reports like this with a grain of salt. Until LG officially announces something, there is nothing we know for sure.
