There wasn't a lot of fanfare around the release of the Kobo Touch 2.0. And probably for good reason. There's not really a lot to say. The device, which was on display at IFA, hasn't changed an awful lot since its last iteration.

The screen's a bit better, the process a bit faster, and the reader's design has been changed ever so slightly, to include a different textured back and a more tapered design for easier holding.

Beyond that, the device is pretty much a dead ringer for the 1.0. There's still no screen illumination – you'll have to pick up a Kobo Glo for that. Which, honestly, feels like it ought to just be a standard e-reader feature already.

But if you care about reading in the dark and want to save a few bucks, the option is there.
